We took Naomi back from Alice’s place yesterday evening and then I put her inside her baby cot cause I need to express my milk after so many hours and the feeling of engorge was unbearable.
She was playing by herself inside her cot and as usual she will stand up and walk around that tiny space in her cot. I was just a few inches away from her cot as I adjust the cot to the front a bit so she can get the fan as well. Suddenly….I heard Tjun Aun shout…I was shocked and I saw Naomi already fell to the floor!!!! How on earth did she managed to climb out from her cot???!!! I immediately drop my pump (some of the milk did spill on the floor…) cause I was so panick that time I just drop everything that I was doing….
I quickly carried her and she was crying non-stop. She did a back flip and fell I think…imagine she was in standing position inside her cot. I didn’t even see her climbing out from there!!!! It happened so FAST!!!! Serious…..I know she likes to use her two toes and cling on the cot’s bar but never thought her legs/toes were that strong!!!
But thank God she fell on her big teddy bear then only landed on the floor. Another thing is that our bedroom floor is the timber wood floor so that impact is not that bad…BUT STILL this is a very DANGEROUS situation as the fall might break her bones or neck and (I dare not imagine the worst).
She held on to me tightly when she cried….I was trying my best to console her and her daddy was panicked and kept checking her head and body to see any injuries.
We checked and thank God no broken bones found and not even a scratch on her.
After about 5 minutes she stopped crying and then I fed her milk and she went to sleep.
She woke up after 1 ½ hours later, took her downstairs and she watched Bee Movie with grandma & grandpa. She was so excited and kept imitating the Bees from the movies.
The bear was the angel that indirectly “prevent” her from getting serious injuries…cause she landed on the bear first before hitting on the floor so I asked her to give the bear a hug….then she went and hugged the bear….not sure she understand and know what had happened earlier…
Anyway, this is the lesson I learnt…the hard way….never ever put her inside her cot as she’s now very curious and active and will do all the un-thinkable stuff…need to keep an eye or both eyes on her every single move …it is better to be safe then to be sorry.
