Naomi is exactly 11 months old today!! 1 more month before she turns the big “1”…For the past few weeks Tjun & I were discussing on how to celebrate this special occasion. I will try to update the plan…errr….when we have them…..so stay tune for that :)
As for her development, she’s doing pretty well for an 11-months old baby. She managed to do a lot of “Actions” using her two hands. Actually she started to do all these when she’s about 8-9 months old. She can wave “bye bye”, clap her hand together, do “cha chi kok” and she’s good at using her index finger and point out to us on what she wants or which directions she wants to go. When you tell her “shake hand, shake hand”, she will hold your hand, and shake it gently..like we always shakes people’s hand when we greet them. If you ask her “ Who is Naomi?” She will point to her own chest referring to herself. Even when she coughs, she will beat her own chest, gently….this is so cute as she likes to imitate what other people is doing…Example: I have a habit on saying “aiya, aiya, ya, ” when I accidentally drop something. Last night, Naomi was walking around in our bedroom (by holding on our bed of course...) and she NEARLY slips and fell….and Tjun heard her saying “aiya, aiya, ya” and she quickly holds on to the bed to support herself.
She’s learning to walk by herself now and she still doesn’t have the confident to do so yet. She managed to walk for 2-3 steps unaided and then quickly held on to furniture. She will laugh excitedly whenever she does that. Even Alice said she has been doing the same thing at her house during day time. I tried not to force her to walk independently that much and would like her to develop them naturally :)
Verbal development, she is now able to say a few words like mama – referring to yours truly, papa – referring to daddy, ah ma – referring to grandma, kong – referring to grandpa, she can understand khor khor (auntie) & gu gu (uncle). She tends to pick up words faster than I expected. I only need to tell her once or twice and she’s able to remember them pretty well. Up to today, she can say quite a number of words like duck, fish, bear bear, mum mum (eating time), bye bye, hi and kang ( I'm still trying to figure out what this means :P).
She’s so into Barney & Friends now and she will purposely go and pick up the VCD and bring the VCD for us and ask us to play the VCD for her or like last Saturday she woke up at 8:30am and she pointed at the T.V because it’s not “ON”. She’s too demanding sometimes!! I wonder where she got this from..hmmm
